Anyone for Golf? A New Society Tees Off in Luton

Discover a fresh way to network, socialise, and enjoy golf with the Coffee Club 9’s Golf Society
If you’re looking for a new way to connect with fellow business professionals and enjoy the great outdoors, the newly formed Coffee Club 9’s Golf Society in Luton could be just what you need. Born from the thriving S.R. Wood & Son Coffee Club, this golf society is aimed at busy, local businesspeople who fancy a bit of friendly competition and a decent cuppa afterwards!
Where It All Began
The S.R. Wood & Son Coffee Club was founded in 2021 by Stephen Wood, starting with just six local businesses. These days, it’s grown to several hundred members, with spots at meetings in high demand. Over the years, the club has built a strong sense of community businesses have found new work, supported each other through everyday challenges, and built lasting friendships. It’s from this spirit of camaraderie that the golf society was created, offering members, friends, and guests a relaxed way to play golf that fits into their busy schedules.
The First Outing: A Hole Lot of Fun
The society’s very first outing teed off on Wednesday 12 November on the Warden course, South Beds Golf Club. Eight keen golfers met up at 8:00am, blessed with surprisingly good weather, no rain, and even a bit of sunshine! After an enjoyable nine holes, everyone gathered in the clubhouse for some well-earned hot drinks and the all-important prize-giving ceremony. Stephen Wood, the coffee club’s founder and enthusiastic supporter, handed out prizes donated by Machins Solicitors LLP, Barth Consulting, Baya Building Consulting, and S.R Wood & Son. It was one of those rare days where everyone left a winner, both on and off the course.
